"Old Rose Treasures of New Orleans" will be the topic of the Houston Rose Society meeting on April 11, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Garden Center in Hermann Park, 1515 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, Texas.

The speaker will be Leo Watermeier, curator of the antique rose garden in Armstrong Park, New Orleans.  Free admission. www.houstonrose.org

Rose Show
at the Arbor Gate
in Houston

The Houston Rose Society will hold a Rose Show at the Arbor Gate, 15635 FM 2920 Rd, Tomball,Texas.

Gardeners from around the state will bring their best blooms to compete for trophies.  Expert consulting rosarians will be on hand to answer questions, share tips, make recommendations and even help with rose purchases throughout the day.

Two great programs will be offered: 

• 10 a.m. — Pests and Plagues of Roses and How to Deal with Them presented by Gaye Hammond, Past President of the Houston Rose Society.
• 1 p.m. — Roses 101 presented by Donald Burger, Director of the Houston Rose Society. 

Come to learn how easy it is to grow beautiful roses.  Free admission.  More information at www.houstonrose.org and www.arborgate.com
